The iOS My Cloud mobile auto backup feature does not transfer data when:

Setup Auto Backup
Follow the instructions below to setup auto backups in the My Cloud mobile app for iOS.
- Open the My Cloud mobile app and Tap the icon in the upper left hand corner of the screen to access the Setting Menu.

- Tap Settings.

- Scroll down to AUTO BACKUP and Tap Photos & videos.

- Tap the Camera backup slider.
Tap the Use Data Plan slider.

Important: My Cloud will backup photos and videos using your cellular data plan.
Additional data charges may apply.
Please contact your cellular provider for more details.
Western Digital does not provide reimbursement for cellular data plan charges.

- Navigate a path for your auto backups

- Choose between the following options:
- Tap Select to auto backup to the existing folder.
- Scroll down and Tap New Folder to create a New Folder for auto backups.

- Enter a Name for the New Folder what will contain the auto backups and Tap OK to create the new folder.

- Tap the Newly Created Folder

Important: DO NOT TAP Select
DOING SO WILL "AUTO BACKUP" TO THE CURRENT FOLDER AND NOT THE NEW FOLDER WHAT WAS JUST CREATED.

- Tap Select

- Tap OK.



When new photo and video content are added to the device, the My Cloud mobile app auto backup feature will go into Pending mode.
The notification will appear on the lock screen every 24 hours when auto backups are Pending.

Checking the Auto Backup Location
Follow the steps below to check the auto backup location and modify if needed.
- Open the My Cloud mobile app and Tap the icon in the upper left hand corner of the screen to access the Setting Menu.

- Tap Settings.

- Tap Photos & videos under AUTO BACKUP.

- Verify the auto backup folder path to ensure it's correct.
If the current location is not correct, Tap Location and select a different path.

Checking Auto Backup Progress
The backup progess can be monitored in the Activity screen.
- Open the My Cloud mobile app and Tap the icon in the upper left hand corner of the screen to access the Setting Menu.

- Tap Activity to monitor the backup progress.
Allow the backup job to Complete by ensuring the screen does not lock or the My Cloud app does not go into the background.



Auto Backup Limitations
Limitations of the My Cloud mobile app auto backup feature.
- The Auto Backup feature supports the backup of Photos & Videos
- The Auto Backup feature does not backup iCloud ® Please follow this link for more information about Apple's proprietary cloud storage HT201104 iCloud Drive FAQ - Apple Support
- The Phone itself, apps, documents and settings are not supported by the Auto Backup feature
- Data transfer (auto backups) will pause if the screen is locked or the app goes into the background
- Data transfer during the backup process may seem stalled or stuck when copying large video files before the backup occurs,
Please allow the backup to progress and do not delete the App from your device - Deleting and Reinstalling the app will force the backup of all content again
- Duplicate files can occur to prevent the loss of content when the backup job is paused an restarted
