Issue:

The error Completion Code: 52, Unsupported Windows version occurs when running the WD Black2 Installation Software.

Cause:

The installation fails due to WD Black² Installation Software not being supported on the Operating System (OS) currently being used.

Solution:

In order to use WD Black2 Installation Software correctly, it has to be installed from one of the following operating systems:
  • Windows 8.1, 32-bit & 64-bit
  • Windows 8, 32-bit & 64-bit
  • Windows 7, 32-bit & 64-bit
  • Windows Vista, 32-bit & 64-bit
  • Windows XP, 32-bit
